<p><span id="more-401"></span>Recognizing creativity, execution, achievement and overall excellence, Your Honor Awards is the longest-running annual national award program honoring excellence in legal marketing.</p>
<p>JStokes was tasked with developing a branding campaign that focused on its client’s reputation as a trial firm. The resulting “Rules” advertising campaign was designed to support its branding efforts and increase Sedgwick’s name recognition among in-house counsel. After conducting marketing research, the firm chose an edgy, aggressive advertising campaign designed to capture the firm’s successful reputation at trial.</p>
<p>Kathleen A. Flynn, Chief Marketing Officer for Sedgwick, had this to say. “Our ads really capture who we are as a firm, tough, effective trial attorneys…with a sharp sense of humor too!”</p>
<p>The campaign – which included both print and online advertising – speaks to the market’s current perception of the firm but can be adjusted as those perceptions change. Each rule ties into Sedgwick’s brand as a trial firm and is written in a tone that demonstrates its attorneys’ passion for the law. A typography-driven design was chosen to capture the viewer’s attention with words rather than any extraneous graphics. The campaign is very flexible and can be adapted to virtually every aspect of the firm, including branding, practice and firm culture messages. &#8220;This award winning campaign was the result of an excellent collaborative relationship with the Sedgwick marketing team,” said Dan Stokes, executive vice president of JStokes. “They challenged us to push the boundaries to communicate the firm&#8217;s new positioning. That was music to our ears.&#8221;   Sedgwick has been a client of JStokes since 2004.</p>

<p>We had a great Sunday with our favorite car care providers. The new spot is sure to drive traffic into SpeeDee shops across Northern California.<span id="more-328"></span></p>
<p>Our good friend Mike Guasch, Director of SpeeDee Operations, joined us to oversee the production. Our expert crew had every detail covered, and the talent for the shoot were a pleasure to work with. The actors were full of natural comedy; we were all laughing the afternoon away. Everyone on set was definitely well-entertained.</p>
<p>We can’t wait to show the world the finished product in the coming weeks!</p>

<p>From our ongoing strategic communications with Bay Area News Group, JStokes is pleased to announce some very exciting news. In a press conference held Thursday at The Oakland Tribune, facilitated by the team at JStokes, Bay Area News Group announced plans to open Community Media Labs centered on the theme: Listen. Engage. Learn. Share. These community newsrooms will offer Wi-Fi access, computers, blogging stations, spaces for community meetings as well as classes taught by the public and members of the news staff. Other exciting news is the announcement that that Bay Area News Group will not be rebranding the mastheads of its iconic newspapers, but will retain the original mastheads. Great news for anyone who grew up reading The Oakland Tribune, namely our fearless leaders and Oakland natives, Jim and Dan Stokes.</p>

<p>Every Wednesday at lunch Bishop Ranch hosts a number of mouth watering food trucks for its tenants. And these aren&#8217;t your Grandpa&#8217;s roach coaches mind you; Ebbett&#8217;s Good to Go makes sandwiches with Niman Ranch meat and local produce; An The Go serves garlic noodles that made their restaurant in San Francisco (Crustaceans) famous; Cabana Dave&#8217;s fish tacos with mango salsa are light and refreshing; and nothing is better for dessert than Kara&#8217;s Cupcakes.</p>
<p>Later on we took Bishop Ranch&#8217;s all electric Smart car out for a spin. In an effort to go green, Bishop Ranch is employing a fleet of Smart cars to assist maintenance crews in day-to-day operations. Between the smooth ride of the Smart car and the stomachs full of cupcakes and garlic noodles, we sometimes forget that we are at work. But that&#8217;s why we love to do it.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>One of our favorite causes is Opportunity Junction, whose mission is to fight poverty by helping low-income adults gain the skills and confidence to support themselves and their families. Once again, we had the pleasure of creating the identity and communications for Opportunity Junction&#8217;s Kentucky Derby-themed annual gala, titled<em> Imagine A Race We All Win</em>. This year they raised more than $100,000 to to support training programs and capacity-building initiatives.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>When we first met with Sunset Development Company back in 1981, the company founder told us if we did our job well we&#8217;d find that they are very loyal. When we began, Bishop Ranch had acquired a few noteworthy anchor tenants and built a few hundred thousand square feet of office space. Not bad.</p>
<p>Thirty years later Bishop Ranch is a 10 million-square-foot business community that is home to more than 550 companies and 33,000 employees &#8211; and JStokes is still its ad agency. That&#8217;s not bad either.</p>
