Situation

Solano County Library embarked on a multi-year, facilities master plan update to better align its spaces and service delivery with the needs of its residents. JStokes was selected to partner with lead architects and planners to develop a comprehensive rebranding plan for the system, including brand positioning, brand identity and standards, signage and a marketing strategy for rolling it all out.

Solution

To inform the brand positioning process, we conducted a research study to explore user and stakeholder perceptions of the library, assess awareness of service offerings, understand usage of services and investigate what they want from the library. The research uncovered the central idea that there is truly something for everyone at the library. That became the cornerstone for the new brand and the new theme line, Go Anywhere From Here.

Success

We developed a new identity and a complete system of assets from business papers to library cards and bookmarks to a new website design and signage program. After receiving unanimous support from the Board of Supervisors, we launched the new campaign through digital media, print and out-of-home channels.
